“The translator is the author’s accomplice.”

LITERARY TRANSLATION

In conjunction with the renowned Argentine architect and scholar, Raúl Bulgheroni, LSB oversaw the English-language translations (performed by John Landers) of ten of his tomes published by Fundación AB - Alejandro Angel Bulgheroni Botto in the 1990s. The complete series is comprised of five volumes and their illustrated appendices - Argentina: Image of a Country: Summa Metropolitana, Summa Patagónica, Summa Chaqueña, Summa Pampeana and Summa Andina.

“The word 'translation' comes, etymologically, from the Latin for 'bearing across'. Having been borne across the world, we are translated men. It is normally supposed that something always gets lost in translation; I cling, obstinately to the notion that something can also be gained.”

― Salman Rushdie, Imaginary Homelands: Essays and Criticism 1981-1991
